Humanitarian Programs ~
The Chapter participated in the SCIF Humanitarian Services Promotion and won $2,500 that can be used for the 2009-2010 Disabled Hunter Program or to jump start a new Humanitarian Program. A vote was taken to put some money to help jump start the Lake and Trails Organization by sponsoring $55 per youth going to camp this year.

Team Up Against Hunger! ~
Brians Deer Cutting teams up with SCI Ohio Chapter to donate meat to a local church. Contact Brian at 216-337-0623 for details on how you can help with this effort! You can make a difference.

  • Providing value to members by shaping policies and legislation that protect the freedom to hunt locally, nationally and internationally.
  • Keeping members informed regarding issues that impact hunting while educating and entertaining members with engaging articles about the rich heritage of hunting in all forms of media.
  • Providing a community for hunters worldwide where camaraderie is enjoyed and expert information is exchanged, and where members are able to participate in a market for quality hunting goods and services.
  • Promoting a positive image of hunters and portraying them as responsible citizens who fund wildlife conservation, education and other programs which benefit the community.

A volunteer health care outreach program serving people in need around the globe.

SafariCare:
SCI and SCIF, like so many organizations, put forth enormous effort each year to help improve the quality of life throughout the world. We are proud of SafariCare’s annual humanitarian efforts and contributions, such as our most recent donation of over $50,000 to the Katrina Relief Fund.

Cooperation with international governments for this and other ongoing SarariCare missions is excellent; however, transportation and shipment of donated supplies can become costly and may temporarily delay deliveries. An innovative approach to help alleviate this problem is the use of “SafariCare blue bags,” which have been successful and have gained membership support.

These blue bags are filled by chapters with medical, educational, and other relief supplies, which are then taken to remote areas of the world by hunters who have planned hunts in these regions. The supplies are delivered directly to clinics and schools for doctors and teachers to utilize. Fortunately, these bags are shipped as luggage to keep both shipping time and costs at an absolute minimum.
